Short presentation of your organisation (key activities, experience)

Ivan Cankar Institute of Culture, Sports and Tourism Vrhnika is efficiently and effectively organized public institution, which in close cooperation with other governance bodies of the municipality and civil society in the field of culture, sport and tourism makes a significant contribution and impact on the development of quantity and quality of culture, sport and tourism in the municipality of Vrhnika. With different events  we want to establish a network of cities between the different organizations to share experiences and best practices, promote local, and wider international community to cooperate, tolerance and intercultural dialogue.

Regardless the political situation and occasional differences between countries we organize together with municipalities, local communities, civil societies a number of meetings to develop thematic and long-lasting cooperation, to strengthen tolerance, to respect cultural and linguistic diversity, to create joint projects, to exchange good practices and mutual learning.

The networks of cities will ensure a structured and intensive cooperation between countries, which connects the legend of the Argonauts. The cooperation will be based on shared interests, values, history and culture.

We have many years of experience in organizing and implementing various events
(in collaboration with different countries).

Short description of the project, including its aims

The project »The path of Argonauts« based on the legend of the Argonauts and includes countries (Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Romania, Greece, Italia, Albania and Montenegro) where they sailed ship Argo. Within the project will be organized:
-Three  Round tables, with various discussions about the future of the EU,  how to deal with the economic crisis, poverty, discrimination, violence, xenophobia  exchange of ideas and good practices ...
How organizations in the social sector in EU resolved the problem of poverty and unemployment? How can EU help? Which Institutions and the EU can help and advice nationals and their family?

-Summer Camp for children -Free activities for children whose parents cannot afford vacations
Example of good practice Municipality of Vrhnika- exchange of ideas and possibilities to cooperate with partners

-educational seminars for young and unemployed
The importance of ICT in EU.  How to find information on jobs and learing oportunities throought Europe and information about studying in Europe
The possibilities for  e-working , e-learning – examples of good practices.

- Festival of culture of each country (music, dances, customs, habits, clothing, cuisine, language etc

- study visit to Romania, Albania, Serbia and Montenegro (to see tourist and cultural attractions and explore the possibility of interconnection). In each country will be organized a round table to exchange opinions and possibilities of joint cooperation in the field of tourism and culture.

Role of the partner organization in the project

-Help in providing the involvement of the participating organizations, non-governmental organizations, associations, civil society

-Help in informing local, national print and electronic media in each country, post on Facebook and  on websites. Invitation public to participate on a voluntary basis

-translate texts in the language of country

-Help in organizing roundtables, workshops, Summer Camp, Festival and study visit

-Help in organizing cultural events (music, traditional dances, customs, habits, customs, costumes, cuisine, arts and crafts
